CounterFlow cooling tower packing features:
*1. Good performance and high cooling efficiency. The filler is film type, and the protruding fine corrugations make the water contact surface larger. The filler is placed in 3~4 layers, and there is a redistribution process of hot water between the layers.
*2. Good hydrophilicity and small ventilation resistance The filler with a rough and smoother surface has good hydrophilicity, and the water absorption rate is less than 0.015%, so that more water flow can form a film without splashing, so that water and air are more fully contacted At the same time, the surface disturbance of water and air is large when flowing.
*3. The heat dissipation of the packing accounts for more than 85% of the entire temperature drop in the cross-flow tower. The heat dissipation process of the cooling tower is mainly carried out on the surface of the heat dissipation packing plate. The water film on the surface of the packing slowly flows down, and the inner water film is the high enthalpy humid air with a humidity of 100%, and the water molecules run from the high enthalpy area to the low enthalpy value. In the fresh air entering the tower, the enthalpy value of the air exiting the tower increases. As the concentration of water molecules decreases, the water molecules in the circulating hot water continuously evaporate from liquid to gaseous state, thereby taking away the latent heat of vapor. According to the above principles, the quality of the filler is the key to the cooling effect.

*Cooling towers reject heat from water-cooled systems to the atmosphere. Hot water from the system enters the cooling tower and is distributed over the fill (heat transfer surface). Air is induced or forced through the fill, causing a small portion of the water to evaporate. This evaporation removes heat from the remaining water, which is collected in the cold water basin and returned to the system to absorb more heat. Each cooling tower line, although operating under the same basic principle of operation, is arranged a little differently.
*There are two main configurations of factory assembled cooling towers: crossflow and counterflow. In crossflow cooling towers, the water flows vertically down the fill as air flows horizontally across. In counterflow cooling towers, the water flows vertically down the fill as air flows vertically up.
